This is an interesting historical item, a golden watch (dia 2,3 cm, Prague stamp, 1902) which was sold at an auction house in Austria. It belonged to Archduchess Elizabeth of Austria, Princess of Windisch-Graetz, a granddaughter of Emperor Franz Joseph and the only daughter of the Crown Prince Rudolph. The watch was given to the princess with the occasion of her marriage with Otto Windisch-Graetz in 1902. It was estimated between €2.500 – to €4.000, and sold for € 4.000 in April 2009. I would say that the amount paid for the acquisition at the auction was quite a good price for this historical item. DM

They’re lovely items. I would have thought that they’d be worth more than that!
