I am a keen collector of royal ciphers and recently found one of the most beautiful and exquisite such monogram from the Victorian period in one of my research digs. It belonged to Marie of Romania and was used in her early years in the country.

I have a brooch made by Carl Faberge which I bought from Wartski in London. I was told that the insignia is that of Queen Marie of Rumania and was commissioned by her as a gift. According to my research in the brooch it was made before she became Queen.
I am trying to find confirmation that this is correct so would be interested in any advice you could give me.
Sincerely,
Ann Griffiths
